The Africa Eye was established to promote good governance and to expose and combat endemic corruption, which remains one of the greatest obstacles to development in Africa. The organization is dedicated to investigation, transparency, and accountability in order to curb the entrenched culture of “loot and share” that undermines public trust and national progress.
The Africa Eye challenges the long-standing culture of silence that has enabled internal colonialism where national wealth is concentrated in the hands of a privileged few, while opportunities for the majority remain limited. This inequality has left many young people unemployed and compelled countless Africans to migrate in search of better opportunities abroad.
The Eye vigorously advocates for strict adherence to constitutional term limits, particularly the enforcement of the two-term presidential limit. Across Africa, some leaders have manipulated or amended constitutions to extend their stay in power indefinitely, effectively turning themselves into life presidents. Notable examples include Togo, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Uganda, Rwanda, Chad,Equatorial Guinea,Republic of Congo, Egypt and others, where democratic principles have been weakened through constitutional alterations.
In addition, The Africa Eye serves as an advisory body to individuals, institutions, and organizations seeking to engage responsibly with African communities in their social, economic, and governance initiatives. Our guiding philosophy is captured in the proverb:“Don’t pay for your goldfish while it is still in the sea.”
This underscores the importance of transparency, due diligence, and accountability in all engagements.
